This Workshop will go over the Four Pillars for Emergency Management hosted by Gina Potts with A3 Limited. Pillars to be discussed include mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Relationship building is fundamental to cultural competence and is based on the foundations of understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes, and subsequently building on the strength of each other’s knowledge, using a wide range of community members and resources to build on their understandings. This session will focus on exploring four components of cultural competence — awareness, attitude, knowledge and skills.

This presentation will examine recent changes to legislation, leave provisions, and employer health and safety obligations during the rapidly changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will include a review the legal requirements for employers regulated both federally and provincially in Saskatchewan and examine litigation risks and trends related to COVID19. Human rights considerations employers must examine related to COVID-19, employer privacy requirements, and issues related to occupational health and safety, including employer obligations related to work refusals will also be discussed. The presentation will provide an extensive overview of those areas’ employers need to consider when managing workplaces in the wake of the pandemic.
